"A few people tried it last time, mostly it ended up with those they requested turning up dead. They can't bring those who are unwilling here." She shrugged, "We can try, but I warned you."
Though it doesn't show on his face, those words send a chill up Dirk's spine. But if that's the case... "If they're unwilling? You're saying those of us here now agreed to your schoolhouse master/slave fetish parade? Is that one of the memories we're all missing?"
He doesn't wait for a response; he just barges on. "If that's the case, then yeah, go for it. If I agreed, you're not bringing anyone in against his will. It's just another part of myself. Oh-- But leave the sunglasses it's wearing behind."
"It's not a memory but if you think hard enough you will remember agreeing," It would be faint, it had been for her. It had got stronger when she became the mayor, but she had got all her memories back and it was not one of those. She did roll her eyes at his description though.
"Are you sure?"
She got out the catalogue and turned pages until she found the section of alternative selves. Honestly why such a section existed she had no idea but it did and so she found the correct number, waiting for him to answer.
Dirk could stand here and argue that point, but he doesn't feel like it. Besides, when he thinks about it, there is a vague sense...
"I'm sure." And he slaps the voucher down on the counter. "Apparently I agreed to be here, and I'm agreeing even more now by asking you to do this. You have my full and total consent to bring me my Waking Beauty."
Well if he was sure. She nodded at him and took the voucher, she quickly processed the request, one spare Dirk without sunglasses. "Your item will arrive on the next train," she told him filing away the voucher. "I hope that it works."
